Master Distiller Viridiana Tinoco at Clase Azul México talks about their brand’s new tequila, saying, “To create a smoky flavor for this tequila, I aimed to emulate traditional mezcal-making methods. Each step of the process was intentionally adapted to showcase the distinctive qualities of the blue agave in an innovative way.
In a traditional underground oven, the blue agave cores are slowly cooked using firewood and volcanic rocks. Afterward, they are carefully shredded before going through Clase Azul’s unique fermentation process that includes their special proprietary yeast sourced from specific agave fields. The result is a tequila with fragrances of plum, red apple, and fresh lemon, offering a velvety, smooth texture and hints of smokiness.
Highly esteemed for its ornate decanters, which function as artistic accents that grace both fashionable home bar setups and stylish bars, the Tequila Blanco Ahumado stands no exception in its elegant appearance.
