At the Paris Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2025 event, Junya Watanabe MAN showcased their new collaboration with New Balance. On the catwalk, a relaxed outfit was accompanied by a pair of New Balance 471 shoes in navy blue, reintroducing the iconic ’70s running shoe silhouette from the past.
In June, the Junya Watanabe MAN collaboration unveiled the debut of a new silhouette for New Balance. This sneaker was first displayed in a navy blue color scheme on the runway, but a monochromatic grey version will also be released globally. The subdued colors make these shoes versatile for any occasion, as they can easily blend with various outfits. The upper is made from textile, premium leather, and suede accents, resting on a rubber outsole and midsole. Each pair comes in a special co-branded box, and the insoles, suede heels, and tongue tag all carry the collaboration’s branding. The only exception being the “NB” logo on the tongue tag.
At this point, there hasn’t been an announced release date for the collaboration, but we can anticipate seeing both colorways, “Navy” and “Grey,” sometime this year.
