Cher Horowitz may be on her way back to the screen.
Peacock is working on a new sequel to the popular series “Clueless,” with Alicia Silverstone set to return as Cher, her memorable character. Additionally, she will serve as an executive producer for this project. The creators behind the scenes include Josh Schwartz, Stephanie Savage (known for “Gossip Girl” and “The O.C.”), and Jordan Weiss (“Freakier Friday”). Amy Heckerling, the original writer and director of the 1995 film, as well as its producer Robert Lawrence, are also involved in this project as executive producers.
CBS Studios, the proprietor of the rights to ‘Clueless’, has partnered with its sister company Paramount Pictures for the production of the film, along with Universal Television. While details about the plot are under wraps, Alicia Silverstone is set to reprise her role as Cher.

The present version of “Clueless” has no connection to another adaptation of the story that Peacock started working on in 2020, which was subsequently abandoned after nine months. This cancelled show revolved around a mystery plot where Cher went missing and her friend Dionne (the character portrayed by Stacey Dash in the film) delved into uncovering what transpired.
