CNN Hires Rahm Emanuel

Rahm Emanuel, formerly serving as the U.S. Ambassador to Japan under the Biden administration, has secured a position in broadcasting with CNN.

Rahm Emanuel, a well-known figure in politics, is set to take up the role of senior political and international affairs commentator at the cable news network, it was announced on Thursday. As White House chief of staff under President Obama, he significantly boosted his national profile, and from 2011 until 2019, he served as mayor of Chicago.

Rahm Emanuel, a famous politician, will start working for a cable news channel as an expert commentator on politics and world affairs, the network confirmed this week. He became well-known during his time as President Obama’s White House chief of staff, and he was mayor of Chicago from 2011 to 2019.

A new hire brings another strong Democratic voice to the international affairs pundit team as they adjust in the second term of the Trump administration. The individual, who is the brother of entertainment magnate Ari Emanuel, resigned from his ambassadorship on January 14, a week before the presidential handover.

Recently, Emanuel has been making appearances on CNN’s shows, such as with Cristiane Amanpour in December, and more recently on ‘State of the Union’ alongside Dana Bash following his completion of his diplomatic duties in Tokyo.

In January, towards the end, the network made changes to its daytime programming. Wolf Blitzer and Pamela Brown switched to hosting The Situation Room at 10 a.m., as Jim Acosta left the network. At the same time, Jake Tapper’s show, The Lead, was moved to the 5-7 p.m. slot. Audie Cornish joined CNN This Morning at 6 a.m., and Rahel Solomon took over hosting duties for 5 Things at 5 a.m.
