As a seasoned gamer with a knack for keeping my eyes glued to the ever-changing political landscape, I can’t help but feel a twinge of excitement about CNN’s latest move. David Chalian, a name that has graced the halls of Politico, Yahoo! News, PBS, and ABC News, is now stepping into the limelight as the new SVP and D.C. bureau chief for CNN.
After the election, CNN made a significant change by promoting David Chalian to Senior Vice President and Bureau Chief in Washington, D.C. This is an important position since the incoming Trump administration is preparing for staffing during the presidential transition period.
In their new position, CNN has assigned Chalian to manage all political news, including polls, decision desk coverage, and political shows. He’ll be making live appearances to explain significant political developments.
In March, Sam Feist, who served as CNN’s Washington bureau chief, decided to move on and accept a new position at C-SPAN, a cable-supported, non-profit organization.
In the year 2013, Chalian became a part of the network, having come from Politico where he managed video initiatives. Prior to this, he had worked in various roles at Yahoo! News, PBS NewsHour, and ABC News.
More to come.
