On Wednesday’s broadcast of The Late Show, Stephen Colbert seemed particularly jubilant due to rumors that President Donald Trump was mentioned in the records related to Jeffrey Epstein.
In his opening speech, the host referred to a recent article from the Wall Street Journal, claiming that Attorney General Pam Bondi privately informed Trump that his name was among several prominent individuals implicated in documents related to Epstein’s sex trafficking investigation. This revelation was made before the Justice Department chose not to disclose these files to the public earlier this month.
In this case, we’ve seen numerous pieces of compelling evidence, but just moments ago, we received what might be the most incriminating yet – according to a recent report by The Wall Street Journal, Attorney General Pam Bondi allegedly informed the president in May that his name appeared in Epstein‘s files. I can hardly believe it when he said he barely knew the man!
With a grin, Colbert exclaimed excitedly towards the camera, echoing the enthusiasm of the audience: “He’s listed! He’s listed! Hurray! Hurray!
The host went on to say, “You might have heard that there’s no such thing as bad publicity. But let me assure you, this isn’t what they meant. It turns out that the president wasn’t the only one mentioned in these documents. A source close to the situation revealed that these papers contain hundreds of other names. Some of these names include Donald Trump, Donald John Trump, Donald J. Trump, Donny Trump, Donald Trump Jr., ‘Father’, ‘Big Daddy’, ‘Big Daddy Bronzer’, better known as ‘the Donald’, and a secret figure referred to as ‘micropenis DJT’.

Colbert’s recent jab at Trump occurred not long after Trump responded to the president’s earlier glee over the cancellation news of The Late Show. Just last week, CBS unexpectedly declared that the long-standing late-night talk show would conclude in May 2026.
In response, Trump posted on Truth Social, “I’m thrilled that Colbert lost his job. His abilities were even less than his viewership. I hear Jimmy Kimmel is next. He has even less talent than Colbert! Fox News late night host Greg Gutfeld outshines them all, including the individual on NBC who ruined the once-great Tonight Show.
During a broadcast of “The Late Show” on Monday, the host remarked, “How audacious of you, sir! Could a talentless individual create this sharp-witted, satirical jest? Go take a hike!” This statement elicited applause from those in attendance.
The cancellation of Colbert’s show was attributed to a financial consideration within the context of a shrinking traditional TV market. However, it’s worth noting that the announcement came after Colbert had criticized Paramount Global, CBS’s parent company, for agreeing to pay $16 million to settle a lawsuit filed by Donald Trump following his interview on 60 Minutes with Kamala Harris. Previous reports in The Hollywood Reporter suggested that Paramount viewed this lawsuit as a potential risk to their planned merger with Skydance, which is still pending FCC approval under the Trump administration.
