I’ve just had the thrill of attending the Screen Actors Guild Awards, where I had a fantastic chat with Variety about my electrifying portrayal of the title antagonist in “The Penguin.” It’s going to be an unforgettable role!
Speaking as an ardent fan, I must say I’m intrigued by the news about Colin Farrell‘s potential return for season two of “The Penguin.” Unlike some fans who might be eagerly awaiting his return, he seems to be taking a more casual approach. He shared that he’s not exactly rushing to start filming, even going so far as to say, “I don’t want it… I don’t not want it,” which is quite enigmatic, isn’t it?
He explained his stance by saying they all gave their best in those eight hours of the first season. He doesn’t want a potential return to dilute the impact that viewers seem to appreciate about the character. So, he’s not in a hurry and doesn’t feel a strong compulsion to reprise the role. However, if the creators come up with an idea that fits seamlessly into Matt Reeves’ cinematic universe and it’s a good concept, he’s open to it. But for now, it’s not something that’s weighing heavily on his mind.
In the upcoming sequel to “The Batman,” directed by Matt Reeves, we can expect the return of Farrell as the Penguin. However, specifics regarding his character are still being kept under wraps by Reeves.
