COMME des GARÇONS Cult-Favorite “2” Fragrance Is Back, But Not For Long

In celebration of its 30-year milestone, the much-adored “2” scent from COMME des GARÇONS is making a return at Dover Street Market Paris, infused with a touch of romance. Originally introduced in 2005, CdG 2 served as a successor to the brand’s inaugural olfactory launch in 1994. Both fragrances were skillfully crafted by perfumer Mark Buxton, who elegantly combined the deeper tones of the original into the enduring sequel.

The revamped romantic edition, affectionately known as “Love Hurts,” boasts heart-shaped metallic Brillo pad-style packaging. This exclusive launch offers six COMME des GARÇONS perfumes: Amazingreen, Blackpepper, Wonderwood, COMME des GARÇONS Eau de Parfum, CdG 2, and CdG 2 for men.

The new romantic version, called “Love Hurts,” comes in a heart-shaped metallic packaging resembling Brillo pads. It includes six different COMME des GARÇONS perfumes: Amazingreen, Blackpepper, Wonderwood, one named simply COMME des GARÇONS Eau de Parfum, CdG 2, and a men’s version of CdG 2.

For Valentine’s Day, DSM Paris is featuring a re-edition of “Love Hurts” as part of a broader activation. They’ve invited 15 artists from their creative network to express their views on love and create products that resonate with them. The offerings span from poignant to bold: Aaron Esh’s distressed baseball caps have love-sick quotes embroidered, while JW Anderson reimagined the viral pigeon clutch in a BDSM style for this special event. Designers like All-in Studio, Chopova Lowena, Vaquera, Charles Jeffrey Loverboy, Simone Rocha, Doublet, Edward Cuming, and others are also part of this curated shopping experience.

120 bottles each of the two COMME des GARÇONS fragrances, uniquely packaged, are now available for purchase only on the first floor of Dover Street Market in Paris. These exclusive items are part of a limited run.
