As a die-hard hip hop enthusiast with years of listening under my belt, I can hardly contain my excitement over the rumored collaborative album between Ye and Kendrick Lamar, especially with Madlib handling the beats! It’s like a dream come true for me, akin to finding a golden ticket in a Willy Wonka bar.
In a recent chat, I shared that I’ve had the privilege of hearing the unheard-of collaboration between Ye and Kendrick Lamar. This extraordinary album boasts some fantastic beats courtesy of none other than Madlib!
On the Bootleg Kev podcast, the artist disclosed that Madlib had worked on the production and shared with the host that the album essentially exists. Consequence expressed, “I believe it merely required proper structuring. I’ve heard the entire piece, and it does exist – it’s there. It’s mind-blowing.
The pair continued to talk about the collaboration between Ye and Dr. Dre, and how Consequence went to the sessions during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic and while he was battling lupus. “There’s just so much music that I feel like is in the air,” Bootleg Kev said.
In early 2016, West and Dot spent one night recording together at a studio after their collaboration on “No More Parties in LA,” which was produced by Madlib. Kanye West later revealed that they managed to record approximately 40 songs during this session. However, none of these tracks have officially been released yet, but some snippets have leaked online since then.
