Tactical monster battler Coromon is set to receive a new spin-off-sequel in the form of roguelike Coromon: Rogue Planet. This new game will be coming to Steam, Switch and most importantly for us, iOS and Android. We gave the original Coromon a fairly positive review when Shaun Walton got to grips with this spiritual successor to the Pokémon series.
A brief look at both the trailer and the Steam page for Coromon: Rogue Planet confirms that the popular creature-battling mechanics which made the original such a favoured way to experience the old-school Pokémon flavour will remain. But it’ll be joined by ever-changing biomes and a variety of random events that develop as you move through each area.
The planned release of Coromon: Rogue Planet is expected for the year 2025, coinciding with the rollout of other platforms.

I must confess, while maintaining the classic appeal, though not particularly passionate about Pokémon, I do acknowledge that there’s a significant number of individuals who truly yearn for a game that recaptures the old-school allure. And considering that the simplicity of the older games in the Pokéseries has taken quite a toll on it, Coromon has a relatively large fandom to master with its colorful pixel graphics.
