As a die-hard gamer, I’ve always been a huge fan of the legend – Crash Bandicoot. There was this lingering hope that he’d make an appearance in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, but alas, it seemed like he wasn’t destined to be part of the roster. But
As a gaming enthusiast, I can’t help but share my excitement about the latest update on my beloved “Smash Remix” mod of the classic N64 game. This updated version packs a punch with additional playable characters and stages, making it a meatier experience compared to the original. The community has been thrilled with the consistent updates, and now, we’ve got even more reasons to rejoice! The new 2.0 update has just dropped, introducing not only Princess Peach but also the iconic character, Crash Bandicoot, into the fray!
Regardless of the graphics reminiscent of the N64 era, the developers successfully replicated Crash’s move set. The iconic PS1 character performs jumps and slides similar to the original games. Most notably, he retains his signature tornado attack, which is lethal in its classic form against regular opponents but serves as a powerful strike in this adaptation.
This version of Crash Bandicoot in the Smash Remix is fantastic and leaves us yearning for his inclusion in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. As the character is no longer confined to PlayStation, he would be an ideal fit for a contemporary Smash edition. Though Crash now belongs to Xbox, they have been quite generous with sharing, so this could happen again.
Recently, it seems like Crash Bandicoot hasn’t had the smoothest journey in the video game industry. Despite the fact that Crash Bandicoot 4 was highly praised by critics, Activision Blizzard declined to produce a fifth installment that would include a guest appearance from Spyro. The HD trilogy and remake of CTR have been blockbusters, so it’s been disheartening to see Activision put the franchise on hold.
Although we might not see Crash Bandicoot as an official character in Super Smash Bros., we’ve got him in the Smash Remix instead, with this being update 2.0. We’re confident that more characters will join the roster in the upcoming updates.
