Vikramaditya stated that many actors who come from nepotistic backgrounds often encounter doubts because of the biased assumptions people have towards them. However, he commended Ananya Panday and Sonam Kapoor Ahuja for their unique abilities, remarking, “Ananya has been proving herself with her own capabilities. People tend to stereotype actors. Interestingly, Ananya is an avid reader, and so is Sonam Kapoor – one of the most well-read personalities in the film industry.
Additionally, he pointed out that some might find this realization surprising, given Sonam’s reputation primarily as a style icon. He underscored the significance of challenging our initial thoughts. In a playful jest, he suggested that others perceive him as less than amusing, injecting a touch of humor into his discourse.
Nikhil Dwivedi, the producer of CTRL, strongly contends that the debate about nepotism is not very important. He elaborated on this point by stating that it doesn’t carry much weight, using Kishore Kumar as a key illustration. Specifically, he highlighted that Kishore Kumar wouldn’t have joined the film industry if his older brother, Ashok Kumar, hadn’t opened doors for him first.
To begin with, Kishore had dreams of becoming a renowned singer instead of an actor, but it was his brother who motivated him towards acting. However, it wasn’t until Kundan Lal Saigal recognized his exceptional singing abilities that he received his major opportunity. This break ultimately propelled him to legendary status within the industry.
Nikhil stresses that numerous actors from movie dynasties often find it tough to make their mark, even with their family connections. He believes that raw talent always triumphs in the end, as those who succeed have done so by putting in the hard work and delivering high-quality performances. He points out that many people with industry links fail to gain a strong position, whereas those who do are indeed working diligently and producing exceptional work.
