Curvy Dining: An Architectural Bloom in Bangkok’s Industrial Landscape

Located deep within Soi Srinakarin – Rom Klao 19 in Bangkok, Curvy Dining is a charming café that was thoughtfully created by Unknown Surface Studio, a design and architectural firm based in the city. The design of this café is influenced by the local flora found on its premises, seamlessly blending open spaces with enclosed areas to foster a captivating dialogue between nature and architecture.

Showcasing a distinct architectural design, this quaint location is affectionately referred to as a “flower blooming” within the urban industrial backdrop by its creators – a description fitting given its facade mirrors a floral shape. The architecture’s design translates a flower’s radial symmetry into geometric terms, branching out from a central point and transforming into a harmonious blend of structure and fluidity, with organic curves refined into rhythmic sunburst patterns and radial formations.

The edge is structured around a grid-like outline, providing clarity within the expansive scenery. Meanwhile, the café’s unique architectural style uses subtraction techniques, shaping areas for movement flow, while winding pathways intermingle with lush green spots, fostering harmony between design and nature.
