As a lifestyle expert, I’m thrilled to share my thoughts on Dabba Cartel, the captivating series starring the talented Shabana Azmi. This show has garnered a tremendous response from both audiences and critics alike, leaving many of us eagerly anticipating each new episode.
Behind the scenes, the mastermind behind this brilliant production, Shibani Akhtar, has recently opened up about her creative journey. She candidly admitted that the process was an incredibly enlightening experience, revealing that there were numerous aspects she initially knew little about. This courageous admission underscores the challenges faced by creators in our industry and serves as a testament to Shibani’s unwavering dedication to her craft.
During a recent conversation on Zoom, Shibani Akhtar discussed her journey in producing a show. She highlighted that creating a production isn’t just about going through various stages; each step served as a valuable learning experience for her. She underscored the importance of preparation, but stressed that nothing compares to actually living through the process itself.
Acknowledging the crucial role of the director and producers, she admitted they were instrumental in guiding her through every step of the way. She characterized this adventure as an enlightening experience, disclosing that there were many aspects she was unaware of at the beginning.
In relation to tales featuring strong female characters, she voiced her aspiration for such narratives to one day be universally recognized as just stories, free from any gender-based classification.
Akhtar emphasized the significance of input from authors, artists, and filmmakers, irrespective of their gender. He underscored the fact that grasping a story’s essence and its characters is far more important than merely concentrating on gender-based representation.
Akhtar too disclosed the source of her motivation behind crafting a crime thriller predominantly featuring female characters, with strong roots in Indian society. She expressed her long-held desire to weave a tale about women, more specifically those involved in criminal investigations, since she perceived such narratives as scarcely represented.
She noted that many crime tales primarily centered around male characters, yet there seemed to be a significant lack of female characters in similar roles. What particularly captivated her was the concept of introducing women who were not initially associated with criminal worlds into this setting, as she felt this transition would result in a more engaging and intriguing storyline.
Farhan Akhtar is backing the series through his production company, Excel Entertainment, with his wife, Shibani Dandekar, writing the script. The crime drama, directed by Hitesh Bhatia, is being produced under the Excel Media and Entertainment label.
The Dabba Cartel features a talented group of actors such as Shabana Azmi, Jyotika, Shalini Pandey, Anjali Anand, Nimisha Sajayan, and several other noteworthy performers.
The Netflix show chronicles an exciting tale about five ordinary women running a lunchbox service, unwittingly pulling them into the dangerous and shadowy realm of drug trafficking. Catch “Dabba Cartel” on Netflix now!
