Daft Punk’s ‘Alive 2007’ Tour Pyramid Is Immortalized in This New LEGO Ideas Set

As a lifelong fan of Daft Punk, I can’t help but be absolutely thrilled about this fantastic LEGO Ideas set! Having grown up with their groundbreaking album ‘Homework’ blasting through my Walkman, and now watching my son groove to ‘Get Lucky’, it’s heartwarming to see our shared love for the electronic duo immortalized in brick form.

A new LEGO Ideas set is commemorating Daft Punk’s iconic Alive 2007 tour pyramid.

Constructed by Patrick Harboun and his son, this 2,000-piece model showcases a motorized rotating compartment filled with transparent bricks within the pyramid structure, along with lighting that mimics the iconic stage prop from their tour. Though Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo are indeed part of this set, Harboun has also designed an alternate version of the duo’s helmets as a precautionary measure in case there might be any legal complications regarding their appearance in Pharrell’s LEGO documentary titled Piece By Piece.

The duo of father and son brainstormed the idea during lockdown as a means of creative expression and won the top prize in LEGO’s global Music To Our Ears! competition, but it was not chosen to be commercially launched. As avid Daft Punk enthusiasts, Harboun explained that this construction is a harmonious blend of two passions. “I spent my teenage years grooving to Homework on my Walkman, while my son’s first favorite lullaby was ‘Get Lucky.’ It just seemed fitting to combine our affection for Daft Punk’s tunes with our enthusiasm for LEGO.
