DAIRIKU and Weber Honor David Lynch With ‘Blue Velvet’ Collection

DAIKU and Weber have teamed up to pay tribute to the late David Lynch by curating a themed assortment, centered around the classic film “Blue Velvet.

The capsule, accompanying the screening of the 4K remastered film version, features clothing showcasing some of the movie’s iconic visuals. This collection includes a sweater made with brushed yarn that mimics velvet and has an oversized open-collar design. Additionally, artwork from the Italian release and Japanese commercials are printed on a line of T-shirts, giving them a more casual, loose fit.

1986 saw the debut of the movie “Blue Velvet,” featuring Kyle MacLachlan, Isabella Rossellini, Dennis Hopper, and Laura Dern. The plot revolved around a college student who revisits his quiet hometown, only to discover a hidden web of crime centered around a tormented nightclub singer. Now hailed as one of the finest films in cinema history, it earned David Lynch his second Academy Award nomination for Best Director.

The DAIRIKU x Weber x David Lynch “Blue Velvet” collection is due to be launched on February 7, available through DAIRIKU and Weber‘s official online stores for ¥8,800 JPY (around $55 USD) to ¥35,200 JPY (approximately $225 USD). At the same time, the 4K remastered version of “Blue Velvet” will premiere at Shinjuku’s Cinema Qualité on the same day.
