Yes, Green is a fictional version of every loudmouth who makes money in today’s digital landscape by criticizing political leaders and creating conspiracy theories out of nothing.
It’s no hidden fact that the character is heavily influenced by a genuine cultural event, and Stevens concurs with this notion. In Netflix’s “Zero Day,” America experiences an unparalleled cyber-assault, resulting in numerous casualties. The government then establishes a commission to help uncover the cause and prevent future attacks of such magnitude. As former President George Mullen heads this commission, the nation seems more fractured than ever before.
YouTube personality Evan Green serves as an excellent embodiment of non-traditional media. In a conversation with The Hollywood Reporter, Stevens shared that figures such as Tucker Carlson and Ben Shapiro have served as his inspirations. However, these influential individuals are not his sole sources of inspiration.
It’s impressive that you’re aware of all three individuals, including Alex Jones, as they were all active contributors to the discourse. I didn’t favor one over the others; instead, I was engrossed in everything. There were figures on both the left and right sides, such as Brian Tyler Cohen or MeidasTouch, who would offer criticism from their unique perspectives, often with a sense of moral superiority regarding current events.
In simple terms, I found every single suggestion to be frustratingly unproductive, not only those that contradicted my views. Regardless of any political alignment, it was the tone and manner of presentation – be it the title or video thumbnail – that became increasingly transparently irritating over time.

Throughout this show, there are recurring themes that feel quite timeless. Regrettably, underhanded government actions and bothersome media figures have been around for a while. However, the rise of these influential tech magnates is something new, and I believe many of the show’s themes stem from our collective unease about them. Noah, Michael, and Eric are particularly attuned to current trends. It was intriguing to see them craft a story that was detached enough from reality but still reflected it in subtle ways. The fact that we started filming over a year ago is astonishing, as the show has turned out to be remarkably prescient.
There are several elements at play that enabled Gaby to wield such influence and extend her reach into government, and it wasn’t solely the result of individual effort. Instead, it was a system that facilitated someone occupying a position of power, making this issue far more complex than just one person being responsible.
