As a seasoned gamer and comic book enthusiast with over three decades under my belt, I can hardly contain my excitement at the prospect of Daniel Craig donning the helmet of Sgt. Rock! Growing up, I devoured every issue of DC Comics featuring this iconic World War II soldier, and to think that we might get a big-screen adaptation, helmed by Luca Guadagnino no less, is nothing short of a dream come true.
It’s being considered that Daniel Craig will take on the lead role in the upcoming DC Studios film titled “Sgt. Rock,” directed by Luca Guadagnino.
The film adaptation of a DC Comics character is still in its initial phases, and no agreement has been reached for Craig to be involved. The project features a script written by Justin Kuritzkes, known for his work on “Challengers” and “Queer,” the latter being a movie produced by A24 that will be released in theaters on November 27, with Guadagnino directing and Craig acting in it.
The specifics about the movie’s storyline haven’t been disclosed yet. However, we know that Sgt. Rock is a character from World War II who made his debut in comic books back in 1959.
DC Studios declined to comment.
Deadline was first to report Guadagnino and Craig’s involvement in Sgt. Rock.
