Daniel Radcliffe and Tracy Morgan Team Up for Hilarious New NBC Comedy Pilot!

It becomes clear why certain things go well together after trying them: peanut butter and jelly, chocolate milkshakes with fries, and now Daniel Radcliffe and Tracy Morgan. The Harry Potter actor has joined forces with Morgan for a comedy pilot on NBC titled “Untitled Robert Carlock & Tina Fey Project.” Known for his unconventional comedic roles and adaptable acting style, we eagerly await their on-screen collaboration and more details about the upcoming series.

Earlier this month, it was officially announced that the upcoming series centers around a disgraced ex-football player (Morgan) attempting to restore his reputation. However, with the unveiling of Radcliffe’s character, we now have more insights into the series’ plot and inner workings. Radcliffe will portray Arthur Tobin, an acclaimed filmmaker who resides in Reggie’s mansion to produce an engaging documentary on the former star running back’s comeback. The series is also being penned by Sam Means, a regular collaborator of Carlock and Fey.

Radcliffe and Carlock, Fey, and Means have collaborated before, and this isn’t their first joint project: Radcliffe made a brief appearance in the Netflix interactive movie titled “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt: Kimmy vs the Reverend“, where all three served as writers and producers. The upcoming series will also include contributions from other alumni of “30 Rock“, namely Eric Gurian and David Miner. In addition, Rhys Thomas, a former cast member of “Saturday Night Live“, will serve as executive producer and director for the pilot episode.

Daniel Radcliffe is The King Of Playing Against Type Since His ‘Harry Potter’ Days

It’s tough to break free from the shadow of a groundbreaking and generational role like Harry Potter, but Daniel Radcliffe has managed to avoid being stereotyped since his time as The Boy Who Lived. Hollywood often pushes actors into specific roles, but Radcliffe has successfully diversified his career. After the final Harry Potter film, he’s built an impressive and varied resume. His first post-Harry Potter project was the horror movie The Woman in Black, where he confronted a vengeful spirit. Next, he portrayed iconic writer Allen Ginsberg in Kill Your Darlings, followed by starring in the strange yet comical film Horns.

Afterward, the performer transitioned into more overtly humorous roles, appearing in movies such as “Trainwreck,” “Swiss Army Man,” and “Now You See Me 2,” as well as voice acting in quirky, comical animated series like “The Simpsons,” “BoJack Horseman,” “Robot Chicken,” “Mulligan” and “Rick and Morty.” He also portrayed the antagonist in Sandra Bullock’s comedy film, “The Lost City” and starred in the humorous and historically-themed anthology series, “Miracle Workers“. The film, “Weird: The Al Yankovic Story, “, where he played “Weird” Al Yankovic, suggests that he can stand his ground against a comedic titan like Morgan and writers Fey and Carlock. The movie was filled with well-known stars and larger-than-life personalities, but Radcliffe stole the show with his dedicated — and eccentrically entertaining — portrayal of the goofy yet beloved parody singer.

Of course, we can’t wait to learn more about this project as it unfolds. Here’s hoping that NBC selects it for a series, bringing back the style of “30 Rock” and making Thursdays a must-watch night for comedy again.
