Danny Boyle’s Teasing of 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple Is Driving Fans Wild!

Currently, the lineup for movies in 2025 has had a victory with the successful box office debut of “28 Years Later.” Furthermore, those who are already peeking ahead to 2026 may be anticipating that the pre-released sequel titled “28 Years Later: The Bone Temple” will follow suit.

To add more fuel to the excitement, Danny Boyle has been sharing intriguing insights during his media interviews. Although I appreciate his eagerness to support director Nia DaCosta’s contribution to the story, there’s one piece of information I wish he hadn’t shared quite so openly; it was something that could be anticipated from afar.

Danny Boyle Has Just Made The Wait For 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple Even Harder To Endure

It’s terrific that conversations such as Boyle had for Soundtracking with Edith Bowman provide us with fascinating leads regarding The Bone Temple’s tale. Since I recently spotlighted Jack O’Connell’s appearance in 28 Years Later, listening to the Trainspotting director describe his part using these terms is a genuine pleasure.

1. He’s incredibly talented. He’s an exceptional actor that I’ve had the chance to preview. The movie is intense… it’s extremely intense. It mainly features him and Ralph, along with a prominent character resembling Samson; that’s quite something… And the storyline tackles the essence of evil, so it’s quite heavy-duty. Yes, it’s excellent.

2. He’s truly gifted. He’s an exceptional actor I’ve caught a glimpse of in advance. The film is powerfully impactful… it’s incredibly powerful. It primarily stars him and Ralph, with the main character being Samson-like; that’s quite remarkable… And the narrative delves into the core of evil, so it’s pretty hard-hitting. Yes, it’s top-notch.

3. He’s extremely skillful. He’s a fantastic actor I’ve had a sneak peek at. The movie is mind-blowing… it’s completely mind-blowing. It mainly showcases him and Ralph, with the central character being Samsonesque; that’s quite remarkable… And the plot explores the heart of evil, so it’s pretty tough-talking. Yes, it’s impressive.

4. He’s truly gifted. He’s an exceptional actor I’ve previewed. The film is intense… incredibly intense. It mainly features him and Ralph, with the main character being Samson-like; that’s quite something… And the storyline delves into the essence of evil, so it’s pretty heavy-duty. Yes, it’s excellent.

It seems my suspicion about Dr. Kelson’s fate in “The Bone Temple” might be strengthening. Moreover, I find myself puzzled about the role and motivation of the Alpha character named Samson (Chi Lewis-Parry) within this storyline. Could it be that Sir Jimmy Crystal, portrayed by Ralph Fiennes, intends to utilize him as an instrument for righteous justice? It’s possible that Dr. Kelson, with his peaceful nature, poses a barrier to Samson being put to use in this manner.

Admittedly, there’s a certain prejudice in my forecast, as I envision an ideal situation that maintains the “handoff” strategy from the cliffhanger ending of “28 Years Later,” where Sir Jimmy Crystal and his cult are stationed at the end of Holy Island causeway, unleashing Samson exactly here. As “In The House, In A Heartbeat” begins to play, we fade to black following a chilling, final remark from our Sinners’ lead character.

One crucial component was kept secret in my original concept. Now, thanks to Danny Boyle’s revelation, it appears that this hidden ingredient will undoubtedly play a role in the final chapter of “The Bone Temple.

We Will See Cillian Murphy At The End Of 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple

It’s no secret that our star from “28 Days Later” is set to appear in the potential “28 Years Later” trilogy, with the news that the “Oppenheimer” actor will be involved. However, there has been uncertainty about when we might see him, but recently director Danny Boyle has hinted at a significant role for Cillian Murphy in this upcoming sequel, which is yet to receive final approval.

Although it hinted at Jim’s return being foretold in the final episode of “28 Years Later: The Bone Temple”, we weren’t completely certain about it. However, the director of “Slumdog Millionaire” has now confirmed this by revealing some key details.

At the climax of the film, I found myself pleasantly surprised by the return of none other than Cillian Murphy. Director Nia DaCosta masterfully reintroduced him into the narrative in an intriguing and intelligent manner that left me quite impressed.

One intriguing possibility is that the strong hints about Cillian Murphy’s comeback by Danny Boyle might actually be masking another surprise. Could it be that Naomie Harris’ character Selena from 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple will also make a return? This could certainly serve as an effective smokescreen to divert attention in the upcoming months.

With the second chapter set for a release on January 16, 2026, we won’t have to wait much longer to uncover the mystery. However, to fully appreciate it, you should watch “28 Years Later”, which is currently playing in cinemas. This would also aid in securing the go-ahead for the upcoming film heavily featuring Cillian Murphy, if the recent display of fan support hasn’t done so already.
