The highly-anticipated Season 1 of “Daredevil: Born Again” on Disney+ is set to debut in March, yet leaks about this upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe series continue to surface online. From what we can gather from the latest trailer, “Born Again” will pick up right where the acclaimed Netflix series left off following a major creative revamp that reduced the initial season’s length by half. For nine all-new episodes, fans will finally get to witness Charlie Cox and Vincent D’onofrio together again as they fight for control of New York City. Although plot details for “Born Again” have been scant, a recent leak has disclosed the titles of each episode.
According to Nexus Point News, each episode of the upcoming season “Daredevil: Born Again” has a distinctive title that only hints at its storyline. It’s uncertain what each name symbolizes, however, it seems that titles like “Heaven’s Half Hour” and “The Hollow of His Hand” could allude to Matt Murdock’s religious beliefs. On the other hand, the title “Art For Art’s Sake” might refer to the series’ enigmatic new antagonist, the malevolent serial killer Muse. The report has disclosed the titles for all nine episodes, but not in any particular sequence.
- “Heaven’s Half Hour”
- “With Interest”
- “The Hollow of His Hand”
- “Straight to Hell”
- “Sic Semper Systema”
- “Isle of Joy”
- “Excessive Force”
- “Art For Art’s Sake”
- “Optics”
Generally, devoted Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) fans can often figure out a show’s plot from its episode titles, but Marvel has been intentionally cryptic about Daredevil: Born Again. Notably, one intriguing title on the list is “Sic Semper Systema.” This appears to be a playful spin on the Latin phrase “sic semper tyrannis,” which means tyrants are always overthrown. The alteration to “systema” for this MCU series could suggest the collapse of an entire system, and given our experience with Daredevil, it’s clear that the Man Without Fear isn’t afraid to confront a multitude of foes, whether in the shadows or out in the open.
‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Season 2 Is Already on the Way
Although the premiere date for “Daredevil: Born Again” on Disney+ is scheduled for March 4, 2025, it’s worth noting that production for a second season has already begun. In fact, Charlie Cox recently disclosed that while Season 1 will be airing later this year, Season 2 would have already started filming by then. This swift production pace is possibly due to the adjustment of the first season’s episode count from the initially planned 18 episodes, down to just nine. Nonetheless, Kevin Feige has expressed his plans for multiple additional seasons of the revamped Marvel Cinematic Universe series.
We haven’t produced any new Daredevil content in quite some time, but I’m thrilled about the upcoming release. In fact, while we’re releasing [Born Again] on March 4th, we’ll already be deep into filming season 2! It’s like a continuous present, indeed.
As a movie reviewer, I’ve got to say, the success or failure of Daredevil: Born Again hinges significantly on audience reception towards the initial two seasons. Disney+ has had its share of challenges with Marvel productions, but their latest live-action venture Agatha All Along managed to silence critics. However, Born Again finds itself in a peculiar position, given the towering expectations it must meet after Netflix’s acclaimed three-season run of Daredevil. While Born Again may not be a direct sequel, it undeniably shares a connection that will make it challenging to distinguish them.
