David Harbour Says ‘Stranger Things’ Cast Was “Uncontrollably Crying” After Series Finale Table Read

As a die-hard fan who has grown up alongside the Stranger Things crew, I can confidently say that David Harbour‘s words about the series finale have me buzzing with anticipation. The fact that even the cast and crew are moved to tears during the final table read speaks volumes about the emotional depth and impact of this final episode.

David Harbour is giving some insight into the Stranger Things series finale.

On Thursday, the actor took part in the festivities marking the 10th anniversary of the Happy Sad Confused podcast during New York Comic-Con. This special event featured a discussion between the actor and host Josh Horowitz, along with Jack Quaid, Zoë Chao, and Jaimie Alexander.

On that thrilling stage, I couldn’t help but share a tantalizing tidbit about the next chapter of our beloved sci-fi series – yes, you guessed it, the fifth and final season! As we’re deep into its production, I can hardly contain my excitement!

He admitted, through People, that as an actor in the series, his feelings towards the show run deep. Since he’s closely involved, his views might differ from yours if you’re a fan. He’s seen the inner workings, so at times, he can be quite critical and even get upset over a disappointing episode or season that didn’t meet his expectations.

Regarding the last episode of “Stranger Things” in its fifth season, which is set to be the eighth one, Harbour expressed satisfaction, revealing he has no objections about it.

The ‘Black Widow’ actress praised an episode, stating it was their finest work yet, followed by a story from the day they concluded their final table reading,” she expressed.

During our reading of this episode midway through, people began shedding tears, as recalled by Harbour. Towards the end, around the last 20 minutes, there were waves of unstoppable sobbing from various individuals. Noah Schnapp was particularly touching for him.

It turns out that one factor contributing to the cast’s emotional response was the fact that for many of them, “Stranger Things” essentially mirrored their own childhood experiences since they began working on it at ages like Millie Bobby Brown (Eleven) and Schnapp (Will), who were only 11, Finn Wolfhard (Mike) was 12, Gaten Matarazzo (Dustin) was 13, and Caleb McLaughlin (Caleb) was 14. Fast-forward a decade, and they’ve all moved on to distinct phases in their lives as young adults in their twenties. Notably, Millie Bobby Brown is now married.

10 years have passed, and we revisit the concept, and it’s nothing short of masterful and breathtaking, he remarked. It’s an outstanding episode, not to mention a fantastic season. I assure you, you’ll adore it.

As Stranger Things season five begins, the gang from Hawkins, Indiana will confront the ultimate manifestation of all their greatest perils: Henry Creel (played by Jamie Campbell Bower), also recognized as “001” and “Vecna.” They momentarily defeated him in the final episode of season four, but he managed to break free. In the closing scenes of the second-to-last season, Vecna unleashes a catastrophic natural disaster upon their hometown, leaving Hawkins fractured into four distinct areas, and the characters are left mourning over the devastation they’ve witnessed.
