As a seasoned gamer and comic book enthusiast with a soft spot for DC Universe characters, I’m thrilled to see the upcoming movie adaptation of Clayface from the creative minds at DC Studios and Warner Bros. Having grown up watching Batman: The Animated Series and Ron Perlman bringing Clayface to life, it’s surreal to think that we’ll get to witness a new take on this iconic villain in live action.
Clayface is ready to hit the ground running from DC Studios and Warner Bros.
The production company has arranged for a movie, penned by Mike Flanagan, to hit the big screen on September 11, 2026. At this point, they haven’t revealed who will be directing it.
Matt Reeves, who directed 2022’s “The Batman,” and Lynn Harris are taking on producer roles for the upcoming film titled “Clayface“. The movie focuses on the DC Comics character that first appeared as a nemesis of Batman in 1940. Notably, this villain is composed of clay and possesses the unique ability to transform its shape.
Moreover, the initial animated film titled “Dynamic Duo” by director Arthur Mintz, produced by DC Studios and Warner Bros. Pictures Animation, is scheduled to hit theaters on June 30, 2028. The screenplay for this production was written by Matthew Aldrich, with Reeves, Harris, and Theresa Andersson serving as producers.
Clayface is given voice by Alan Tudyk in the animated shows “Harley Quinn” and “Creature Commandos,” while Ron Perlman lends his voice to him in “Batman: The Animated Series” and “The New Batman Adventures.” Brian McManamon played the character on live-action series “Gotham,” and Lorraine Burroughs portrayed him on “Pennyworth.
As a devoted cinema enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that this year, I learned about the exciting news: Peter Flanagan will be penning, directing, and producing a fresh installment in the iconic Exorcist series for Universal Pictures! His recent venture, the Tom Hiddleston-starring movie titled The Life of Chuck, is an adaptation from Stephen King’s short story. This anticipated flick is slated to grace our cinemas in May, following its premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival, courtesy of Neon.
More to come.
