Deadpool & Wolverine Concept Art Reveals Hot Wolverine-Deadpool Variant

As a movie buff with over three decades of comic book films under my belt, I must say that the recent revelation of the Wolverinepool and other scrapped Deadpool variants has sent me into a frenzy of excitement! It’s not every day we get to see such bizarre and imaginative characters come to life on the big screen. And as someone who has spent countless hours poring over concept art books from various productions, I can only imagine the wealth of unused designs that are tucked away in the vaults of Deadpool & Wolverine.

In a side-splitting climactic fight, Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) and Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) faced off against each other, but not without interference from numerous versions of Deadpool pouring out from The Void to halt their attempt to thwart Cassandra Nova’s (Emma Corrin) evil schemes. Among the action-packed scene was a memorable appearance by Ladypool (Blake Lively), as well as some unconventional Deadpool characters. Some of these offbeat Deadpool personas originated from Rob Liefeld’s comic books, while others were conceived by Reynolds, Jackman, and director Shawn Levy. However, recent revelations from concept art have exposed a peculiar Deadpool variant that regrettably didn’t make it into the final movie cut.

Among the numerous alternatives for Deadpool that David Masson has made public online, the Wolverinepool is one of them. Earlier, Masson put together a brief collection of abandoned Deadpool concepts in a post. In this video, you’ll find a samurai version, a World War II version, a punk rocker version, a Lucha Libre version, and even an elderly female Deadpool.

It’s common for unutilized concept sketches from movies to surface online post-release, as artists who work diligently on character design for big-budget films want to showcase their talent. However, the early release of some Deadpool & Wolverine concept art isn’t just a casual event; it’s being shared to generate excitement for the upcoming publication of the Deadpool & Wolverine Concept Art Book. Given the numerous cameos in this movie, there are likely hundreds of unused designs, costumes, and characters that didn’t make the final cut.

According to artist Wesley Burt on social media, the concept art book featuring Deadpool and Wolverine has been confirmed. During a post showcasing unused costumes for Henry Cavill’s Cavillerine character, Burt disclosed that a concept art book is under development. The artist did not provide any specific release date but confirmed its existence. In addition to announcing the upcoming book, Burt also shared various unused costume designs from the movie. Lately, Wesley Burt has unveiled alternative costumes for Emma Corrin’s Cassandra Nova in X-Men, experimenting with diverse styles ranging from voluminous trenchcoats to cargo pants and a vest resembling Lara Croft’s outfit.

Additionally, Wesley Burt unveiled a model for an unutilized Wolverine version based on X. This design was inspired by the “Age of Apocalypse” comic book series, featuring a one-handed character. Clad in a black and red sleeveless vest, this variant bears a striking resemblance to Wesley Snipes’ Blade costume from Deadpool & Wolverine.
