Death threats to Rajpal Yadav and Kapil Sharma were real, confirm cops as they trace email’s IP location to Pakistan: ‘We need the CBI to intervene’

The authorities have now publicly addressed the death threat case involving Rajpal Yadav and Kapil Sharma. During an interview with News 18, they acknowledged that the threatening emails were indeed genuine. Senior Inspector Sadashiv Nikam from the Amboli police station added that they have communicated this issue to their higher-ups, and the process is underway for the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to take over.

The individual mentioned that they’ve been updating everyone because it’s an international matter, but so far, no one has taken an active role in it. They also mentioned that determining the sender of this email might take some time. However, he confirmed the authenticity of the threatening email and revealed the name as Bishnu. He further stated that the investigation is ongoing, but it’s uncertain whether the person making the threats is real or if someone is pulling a prank on the celebrities.

On December 17, 2024, it’s been reported that a case was filed after Rajpal lodged a complaint about receiving a death threat email. An FIR was submitted, and furthermore, Kapil Sharma and his team allegedly received a threatening message. Nikam stated that the IP address from which the threats originated has been traced to Pakistan, hence requiring CBI intervention. He also mentioned that this investigation may take time due to the challenges in obtaining information from neighboring countries.

A complaint was made at the Amboli Police Station, accusing an unknown person of violating Section 351(3) of the Bombay Police Act. In addition to Yadav and Sharma, both of whom received threats, Sugandha Mishra and Remo D’Souza were also threatened. Reports of these incidents have been filed at the Oshiwara police station.
