As a seasoned gamer with a penchant for fashionable timepieces, I can’t help but be drawn to the Seiko 5 Sports x DENHAM Collaboration “Jeanmaker’s Watch” Limited Edition. With its unique design concept inspired by denim and the striking indigo hues, it’s like a perfect blend of my love for gaming (where everything is blue) and high-end fashion.
Seiko has teamed up with high-end denim brand Denham to create a joint Seiko 5 Sports watch. The design of this piece draws inspiration from the “jean maker’s watch,” as it features different shades of indigo on its dial, bezel, and strap. Upon closer examination, you’ll notice that the 12 o’clock index has been swapped out for a triangular pattern that includes Denham’s signature scissor logo.
Wrapped in steel casing, this watch boasts a diameter of approximately 42.5mm. It is driven by Seiko’s 4R36 caliber, an automatic movement that can also be manually wound, offering around 41 hours of continuous operation along with stop second, day, and date functions. This mechanism is visible through the transparent caseback, which carries the engraving “THE TRUTH IS IN THE DETAILS” alongside a co-branding mark.
2,000 units of the Seiko 5 Sports x DENHAM Collaboration “Jeanmaker’s Watch” Limited Edition are now available for pre-order at Seiko’s online store, with a price tag of $430 USD. The official reveal of this watch is scheduled for November 9, 2024.
