As a gamer with a knack for Hollywood history and a deep appreciation for the timeless duo of Dennis Quaid and Meg Ryan, I can’t help but feel a sense of nostalgia when reflecting on their relationship. Having grown up watching their iconic films like “Dying Young,” “Sleepless in Seattle,” and “The Parent Trap,” it’s heartwarming to see them speak so fondly of each other even after their separation.
Dennis Quaid reflects on his past marriage with Meg Ryan, highlighting the most wonderful outcome they shared together.
Actor portraying Ronald Reagan was recently featured on “Who’s Talking with Chris Wallace”. In this chat, host Chris Wallace inquired whether being in the limelight and known as one of Hollywood’s iconic couples affected their relationship, having been married from 1991 to 2001.
When I first encountered Meg, I was at a point regarding my career, while she was too,” Quaid reminisced, gesturing with one hand to represent himself and the other for Ryan. “But then, it changed suddenly, just like this,” he explained, flipping his hands over.
Quaid admitted that he tried to act unphased, but acknowledged that humans can’t help how they feel. He explained, ‘My ex-wife was gaining popularity as I entered rehab.’
Yet, over two decades since parting their paths, Quaid continues to express only praise for Ryan.
Elizabeth, from The Parent Trap, commented that Meg is an exceptional, kind individual and incredibly gifted, deserving of all her accomplishments. She shared that she has no regrets about their marriage as it led to Jack Quaid, who she believes may outshine both of them in the future.
Jack, their son, has moved on to shine in numerous self-led productions such as “The Boys”, “Ithaca”, and “Plus One”. Additionally, he lends his voice to characters in “Star Trek: Lower Decks” and “My Adventures with Superman”. Notably, he is also slated to star in the upcoming movie titled “Companion“.
Quaid has been in a marital relationship with Laura Savoie since the year 2020. Prior to this, he was married to Kimberly Buffington from 2004 until 2018. Currently, Ryan remains unmarried, but had a brief engagement with John Mellencamp between the years 2018 and 2019.
