As a longtime observer of Bollywood and its intricacies, I must admit that the release of Junaid Khan and Khushi Kapoor’s debut song “Loveyapa Ho Gaya” has been a bit underwhelming for me. Having witnessed the journey of countless star kids in the industry, I can’t help but feel that they deserve better than this.
Having followed Aamir Khan’s career since his Lagaan days, it was exciting to see his son stepping into the acting world with Maharaj in 2024. Similarly, Sridevi and Boney Kapoor’s daughter Khushi making her debut in The Archies last year was a promising start. However, their first collaboration in Loveyapa seems to have missed the mark, at least musically.
The track has received a mixed response from fans, with many finding it ‘cringe’ and overacted. While I understand that every artist needs to take their first steps, I believe that Junaid deserves a more polished debut song considering his lineage. It’s a delicate balance between living up to expectations and finding one’s own path, and I hope the young actors find it soon.
On a lighter note, perhaps the next time they collaborate, they could consider a remake of “Mere Paas Mera Dhai Aana” – that would surely be a crowd-pleaser!
On January 3rd, 2025, the song Loveyapa Ho Gaya from Junaid Khan and Khushi Kapoor’s upcoming film, Loveyapa, was released. Shortly after, Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan expressed their affectionate approval towards the newcomers. Unfortunately, the song failed to meet fan expectations, leading to criticism that it was ‘cheesy’ or ‘cringeworthy’. Keep reading!
In 2024, Aamir Khan’s son, Junaid Khan, launched his acting career with the historical drama film titled Maharaj. The previous year in 2023, Sridevi and Boney Kapoor’s youngest daughter, Khushi Kapoor, entered the acting world through Zoya Akhtar’s The Archies. Now, these promising actors are preparing to appear together for the first time on the big screen in their debut film, Loveyapa. On January 3, 2025, the first song from this romantic comedy, Loveyapa Ho Gaya, was released and caught the attention of Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan. However, despite receiving endorsements from these two prominent figures in Bollywood, the track did not resonate with the audience.
Shortly following its release, social media users began criticizing the track. Some found it embarrassing, others condemned the lyrics. A few even believed that Junaid deserved a more prestigious role for his film debut. One user commented, “I have a feeling that Junaid is lowering himself with this,” while another questioned, “Why so much cheesiness?” Yet another critic added, “There seems to be too much overacting in this song.
Some people found issues with the song’s lyrics, while others believed Aamir’s son deserved more meaningful content. A fourth person described him as “an average child of privilege who engages in meaningless activities to pass the time.
