Devin Booker often showcases his skills on the court, and this past weekend he unveiled a fresh pair of Nike Book 1 custom shoes that appear to draw inspiration from the Cortez design. The shoe features a crisp white leather upper with accents of purple and orange, representing his team, the Phoenix Suns.
Drawing inspiration from the ’70s Cortez design and his initial signature shoe, Book embraces this connection with a Suns-themed edition. Nike announced that the Nike Book 1 “Forrest Gump”, inspired by the original Cortez style, will be released later this month. Popular among fans, Book experiments with this new colorway, deviating from the traditional red and blue color scheme of the “Forrest Gump”. The premium full leather upper is accented with a purple Swoosh, mirroring the heel and tongue branding, and an orange section on the midsole.
At this point, it’s unclear whether the design displayed as a Prototype Edition (PE) could potentially become a regular release in the future, similar to the “Forrest Gump” color scheme. Have a good look at the image provided either above or below.
