Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri are ready to appear together in Dhadak 2, the follow-up to the 2018 romantic drama. The sequel was initially announced last May for a November 22, 2024 release, but has faced setbacks due to certification hurdles by the CBFC. After apparently receiving a U/A rating, the film has now been scheduled for an August 1, 2025 premiere.
Dhadak 2 gets new release date
On May 26th, the creators of Dhadak 2 shared a joint post with a fresh poster showcasing Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri. The post, hinting at the film’s poignant romantic narrative, was accompanied by the caption, “Choosing one between dying and fighting… I choose to fight.” Translated to English: “#Dhadak2 is coming to all cinemas on August 1st, 2025.
In both posters, the main actors are shown locked in each other’s intense hugs. The first image captures Siddhant with Triptii held close to him, his gaze fixed elsewhere, reflecting a blend of passion, determination, and anger. On the second poster, the actress from Spirit is depicted in distress as she clings tightly to the actor from Gully Boy.

Suggested changes by CBFC on Dhadak 2
For those not familiar, the release of Dhadak 2 encountered a substantial setback due to certification problems instigated by the CBFC. Just recently, The Hindu reported that the film has now been approved by the certification board following 16 modifications. Notable among these changes was a line containing a political reference, which was altered to prevent any connections with public figures.
Beyond these adjustments, the council also proposed reductions in several areas that pertain to caste, religious connotations, and a traditional Tulsidas quote was swapped for a more symbolic phrase instead. Furthermore, a conversation embodying power dynamics was reimagined as a metaphor illustrating hidden dominance, shedding light on overlooked aspects of power.
