Diane Warren, Jimmy Jam to Be Honored at Carousel of Hope Ball

As a long-time gamer and avid follower of Hollywood events, I can’t help but feel inspired by this year’s Carousel of Hope Ball. The announcement that music industry legends Diane Warren and Jimmy Jam will be honored at the event is truly exciting.

At this year’s Carousel of Hope Ball, two notable figures from the music industry will be acknowledged for their support in raising awareness and funding for diabetes research. Diane Warren and Jimmy Jam are the esteemed recipients of the recognition to be bestowed upon them at the gala event.

On Monday, Barbara Davis and her co-chair Dana Davis made an announcement: Warren is set to receive the Inspirational Lifetime Achievement Award at the upcoming 38th gala on October 5 at the Beverly Hilton. Legendary musician Jimmy Jam will be awarded the Brass Ring Prize instead.

Dexcom, a renowned company specializing in real-time continuous glucose monitoring for diabetes patients around the world, organizes this biennial event once more. The star-studded gathering aims to boost awareness about Type 1 diabetes and generate funds for the Barbara Davis Center for Diabetes. Notable figures like Jay Leno will return as hosts, while David Foster continues his role as music director. Clive Davis and Quincy Jones will be back as musical chairs.

Warren expressed his joy and gratitude for being chosen to receive the Inspirational Lifetime Achievement Award at the Carousel of Hope Ball multiple times. He added that it’s an honor to be associated with such an event that brings attention to the remarkable work carried out at the Barbara Davis Center for Diabetes. Warren, a 15-time Oscar nominee, made these remarks in a statement.

Jimmy Jam expressed, “Receiving the Brass Ring Award holds special significance for me as my 2-year-old son Max was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. Max had made a promise, ‘I will keep fighting to find a cure for Type 1 diabetes.’ I am deeply grateful to Barbara Davis for continuing to pursue that dream for Max and our family.”

Since its initiation by philanthropist Davis in 1978, the Carousel of Hope Ball has been a staple charity event in Hollywood, lasting over four decades. This year’s edition promises an exciting evening filled with cocktails, silent and live auctions, a sumptuous dinner, and captivating entertainment and musical performances. To date, this event has amassed over $115 million in funds, all going towards the Children’s Diabetes Foundation and the Barbara Davis Center for Diabetes in Denver.
