In a recently released series on OTT called “The Royals,” Ishaan Khatter takes on the captivating role of a prince. Recently, when the Hindustan Times inquired about my shirtless scenes, I playfully hinted at an additional fee associated with them. To put it casually, I might say, “Well, let’s just say there’s a special rate for those scenes!” After all, everyone has their priorities, and mine include ensuring a comfortable lifestyle between takes.

The TV show “The Royals” was developed by Rangita Pritish Nandy and Ishita Pritish Nandy. It is helmed by Priyanka Ghose and Nupur Asthana as directors. This delightful romantic comedy series, centered around a royal household, premiered on Netflix on May 9, 2025. Ishaan Khatter and Bhumi Pednekar share the screen for the first time in this production, with Khatter playing one of the leads.
As we move forward, Ishaan Khatter is preparing for the debut of his movie Homebound, set to appear at the esteemed Cannes Film Festival. Previously, in an interview with a certain media outlet, he disclosed that filming for the project started just under two months following the completion of The Royals. The actor mentioned that he shed approximately 10 kilos for his role in the Neeraj Ghaywan production.
Ishaan is anticipated to make an appearance on the famous red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival happening from May 13-24, 2025. The movie “Homebound” has been chosen for the Un Certain Regard section and will feature Ishaan alongside Janhvi Kapoor and Vishal Jethwa in its main roles.
Karan Johar, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta, and Somen Mishra are responsible for creating this project. Marijke deSouza and Melita Toscan Du Plantier serve as co-producers.
