As an avid follower of politics and a huge fan of trailblazing women, I can’t help but be completely captivated by Vice President Kamala Harris’ meteoric rise to power. Her recent nomination as a top contender for the Democratic Party ticket is truly inspiring, and it brings back memories of an intriguing encounter I had with her over a decade ago.
Since Joe Biden decided not to run for president again, Kamala Harris has emerged as a prominent figure in political conversations. She has earned Biden’s endorsement and is now seen as a strong candidate to take his place within the Democratic Party.
As an obsessed fan, I’ve been keeping up with every single detail about Vice President Kamala Harris, and recently, something fascinating surfaced. Way back when, Indian actress Mallika Sherawat tweeted something that has gained renewed attention. Her message, though cryptic at the time, now seems to suggest Harris’ political prowess.
Mallika Sherawat’s 15-year-old tweet about Kamala Harris resurfaces
In 2009, Mallika Sarabhai posted on her X platform (previously Twitter), “Enjoying myself at an upscale event with the woman believed to be a potential US President, Kamala Harris. Ladies are in charge!” This was around the time Mallika relocated from India to the United States to pursue new possibilities.
Here’s a screengrab of her now-viral tweet:-
How did the internet react to Mallika Sherawat’s old tweet about Kamala Harris?
Multiple individuals have been posting on social media platforms, displaying Mallika’s old tweet along with their comments. One person expressed, “Fifteen years ago…” Another user concurred, “Mallika was right on the money…” A third commented, “Throwback moment!” The fourth exclaimed, “She has a time-traveling ability.”
Some drew a likeness between the actress and Jofra Archer, the English cricket star known for making his tweets come true.
Why did Mallika Sherawat move to the US?
As an obsessed fan, I can’t help but admire Mallika’s insatiable curiosity and drive for new experiences. Part of what drew me to her was her desire to expand her horizons beyond the familiar, and she truly did just that. I’ve been in awe as I’ve watched her meet the esteemed US President Barack Obama not once, but twice. I’ve cheered her on as she collaborated with the talented Bruno Mars on a music video. And my heart raced when she starred in an independent film titled “Politics of Love.”
In an exclusive interview with TopMob this month, Sherawat shared another reason for her departure from India. When asked about handling the criticism and scrutiny she faced, she admitted, “The bullying and harassment I experienced from certain media outlets, the public, and the judgment I received were overwhelming. It truly pained me. I couldn’t cope; it shattered my heart. I had to leave the country to find peace.”
Mallika was last seen in 2024’s Tamil film Pambattam.
