Did ‘Mountainhead’ Eerily Predict Boulder Terrorist Attack?

Satire frequently reflects on current world events. Exceptional satirists can even foreshadow tomorrow’s news today.

Consider reading Kurt Schlichter’s Kelly Turnbull series set in an America torn apart by internal conflict reminiscent of a civil war. Certain parts of these thrilling novels seem eerily similar to current events, serving as a grimly humorous cautionary tale that we might be wise not to dismiss.

That’s essentially the message the author is conveying. For instance, ‘The Attack’ serves as a depiction of potential outcomes when a country has weak border controls, such as under the administration of President Biden.

Something similar can be said about “Mountainhead.”

As a film enthusiast, I’d say: In the realm of HBO Max, a satirical series unfolds from my perspective. It revolves around four tech pioneers, including Venis (Cory Michael Smith), who have unleashed groundbreaking innovations – and inflated egos! Their brainchild, a social media platform, has revolutionized digital communication by introducing life-like AI videos. However, when someone manipulates the platform’s AI visuals to fabricate false narratives, chaos erupts, leading to violent confrontations.

This is an excellent illustration of sharp satire. Artificial Intelligence videos that appear real might soon claim things which clearly didn’t occur, and the consequences could be significant if one of these videos spreads widely online.

In an eerie parallel, “Mountainhead’s” prophetic vision seems to have materialized, albeit with a different villain. Instead of a deceptive A.I. video, it is the spread of misinformation, or Fake News, that has brought about the unsettling reality.

Over the past weekend, some well-known media platforms like CNN and The Washington Post spread misleading information about an incident involving Israeli forces and Palestinians at a food distribution event. These reports claimed that 31 individuals lost their lives during the chaos, but upon closer inspection, it appears this was not accurate. As a devoted cinema enthusiast and someone who values truth and accuracy, I always strive to separate fact from fiction in the news.

The video evidence later revealed that it was Hamas soldiers, not Israeli troops, who were responsible for the civilian casualties. Unfortunately, numerous media sources perpetuated the inaccurate narrative initially spread by Hamas, overlooking the terror organization’s longstanding pattern of deceit.

On the day prior, an individual expressing solidarity with Palestine is alleged to have tried setting fire to bystanders in the wake of an event happening in Boulder, Colorado, which aimed at advocating for the release of remaining hostages kept captive by Hamas.

45-year-old Mohamed Sabry Soliman, an individual who entered the U.S. under the Biden administration but is currently residing here unlawfully, employed a homemade flamethrower in an assault at a gathering. During this attack, Soliman reportedly voiced his support for Palestine’s independence and anti-Zionist sentiments, with at least eight individuals requiring hospitalization as a result.

It’s unclear if the Egyptian individual was influenced by the biased or misleading news reports frequently shared by traditional media sources, also known as Legacy Media. However, given his exposure to potentially deceptive headlines from allegedly corrupt news outlets over the past few months, it is plausible that he might have been swayed in some way.

The weekend’s anti-Isreal Fake News barrage wasn’t an isolated incident.

The startling incident reminded me of “Mountainhead,” and now we’ll wait and see if any film studio, regardless of size, produces a satirical movie exploring how misinformation erodes our society.

  • The Russian Collusion Hoax
  • Hunter Biden’s laptop is Russian disinformation
  • President Biden is sharp as a tack
  • The “Very Fine People” hoax

The examples are endless.
