Sanjay Leela Bhansali‘s grand film Padmaavat, featuring Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, and Shahid Kapoor, is getting ready to hit theaters once more. This historical drama was a huge hit when it first premiered in 2018 at the box office. Yet, as the re-release draws near, a contentious statement by an alleged team member, who claimed Bhansali disrespected the character of Deva on set, is causing quite a stir and generating discussion online.
Recently, Shahid Kapoor recounted an instance where he felt overshadowed as an actor prior to the success of Kabir Singh, which ignited a passionate debate. In this discussion, a user, who claimed to have worked on the set of Padmaavat, made a surprising disclosure. According to a screenshot from Reddit, this online user accused that while Ranveer Singh was enjoying the zenith of his career, Shahid Kapoor was experiencing a difficult time.
The user asserted that Shahid Kapoor was assigned secondary shots while Ranveer Singh avoided them. Moreover, the comment implied that when Shahid expressed his thoughts during filming, director Sanjay Leela Bhansali did not seem to pay attention, and even supposedly insulted him. The author penned, “Shahid was given all the shots whenever he spoke up; the director didn’t seem to listen, and he allegedly insulted Shahid. Time was of the essence.
In a recent conversation with Raj Shamani, Shahid Kapoor shared an instance when he felt devalued and small, even before the release of Kabir Singh. He admitted to being placed in a circumstance that made him feel insignificant, yet stressed that this wasn’t due to any external influence.
The performer openly admitted that at that particular instance, he felt insignificant both as an artist and personally. However, he strongly asserted that he would never allow himself to be made to feel less than what he truly is.
7 years ago, the historical epic “Padmaavat,” featuring Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, and Shahid Kapoor, hit theaters. In spite of numerous obstacles during filming and its debut, the 2018 movie turned out to be a massive box office success. Now, after some postponements, the creators have officially announced that “Padmaavat” will return to cinemas on February 6, 2025.
