The comedy-thriller Housefull 5 starring Akshay Kumar has been garnering favorable responses since its premiere. Interestingly, it was launched in two versions, each featuring a unique ending, and both have resonated well with the viewers. In one of these versions, Nana Patekar portrayed a significant character as a senior police officer, particularly during the climax scenes. However, it was not originally intended for him; Amitabh Bachchan had initially been considered for the role, but he declined due to his careful selection process when it comes to choosing roles.
According to an article I stumbled upon at Bollywood Hungama, it seemed like Amitabh Bachchan was all set to play the senior cop character in Housefull 5. However, hearing this news had my heart racing, as I’m such a huge fan, and I couldn’t help but feel excited! But alas, it appears that Big B gracefully turned down the role due to age-related concerns, demonstrating his discerning taste when it comes to selecting roles. In the end, Nana Patekar took on the part instead, as he was already involved with the project.
Initially, Anil Kapoor and Nana Patekar were thought to portray police roles in the movie. According to reports, the creators intended to revive the dynamic duo of Uday and Manju in the film. However, Anil declined the offer. Consequently, Sajid Nadiadwala opted to cast Sanjay Dutt and Jackie Shroff as cops instead, who had previously worked together in Khal Nayak.
Previously, it was rumored that Anil Kapoor turned down Housefull 5 because of salary disputes. Additionally, it was said that Boman Irani was given the chance to portray Batook Patel (originally played by Johny Lever), but an agreement couldn’t be reached in the end.
For those unfamiliar, Housefull 5 boasts an impressive lineup of celebrities including Akshay Kumar, Abhishek Bachchan, Riteish Deshmukh, Jacqueline Fernandez, Sonam Bajwa, Nargis Fakhri, Sanjay Dutt, Jackie Shroff, Nana Patekar, Chitrangada Singh, Fardeen Khan, Chunky Pandey, Johnny Lever, Shreyas Talpade, Dino Morea, Ranjeet, Soundarya Sharma, Nikitin Dheer and Akashdeep Sabir.
On June 6, 2025, the movie was released in cinemas, leaving a significant impact due to its exceptional acting, captivating plot, hilarious moments, suspenseful scenes, and much more.
