Did you know Bipasha Basu cried and Dino Morea looked unhappy as they shot wedding song of Raaz? Vikram Bhatt recalls their relationship falling apart

As a lifestyle expert with a keen eye for behind-the-scenes drama, I must say that Vikram Bhatt’s recollections of the Raaz set are as intriguing as the film itself. The on-set tension between Dino Morea and Bipasha Basu added an unexpected layer to their chilling performances. It seems that the line between reel and real life was blurred, with their off-screen feud mirroring the haunting narrative of the movie.

Vikram Bhatt’s movie Raaz, starring Dino Morea and Bipasha Basu, continues to be a favorite horror film in Bollywood. This film turned out to be a hit commercially. In a recent chat, Bhatt shared memories of the conflicts on set between Morea and Basu. He recollected an episode during a wedding scene where Bipasha was shedding tears and Dino looked displeased, saying, “I can still recall Bipasha crying and Dino looking dissatisfied.”

Back in the days of Raaz, as I recount my experiences, I can’t help but be drawn back to the palpable tension on set, a tension fueled by the heart-wrenching split between Dino Morea and Bipasha Basu. During our wedding song sequence filming for Main Agar Saamne, the lyrics resonated deeply with their off-screen disputes – Apni shaadi ke din abb nahi door hai couldn’t have been more apt.

He shared that he opted to consult with both actors and suggested postponing their dispute for the sake of a seamless filming process. Subsequently, he organized a lunch meeting for them. However, it was evident that their bond was strained, as their relationship seemed to be worsening.

He mentioned that their bond seemed to be deteriorating. As a rule, I avoid delving into the private affairs of my actors. Consequently, I’m unaware of the specifics. However, following the release of Raaz, it appears they had a major falling out.

In an interesting turn of events, it was disclosed by Vikram Bhatt that Bipasha Basu wasn’t initially chosen for her part in Raaz. Originally, Lisa Ray was set to play Sanjana Dhanraj, but she had to withdraw due to personal matters. This paved the way for Bipasha to step into the role instead. Furthermore, Vikram shared a fascinating anecdote about Dino Morea who was suggested by producer Mukesh Bhatt. During the editing process of Kasoor, Dino happened to meet Vikram and eventually joined the cast of Raaz.

In a past project titled “Pyaar Mein Kabhi Kabhi,” Dino shared screen time with Rinke Khanna. Although the movie didn’t achieve great success, Dino was recognized as a budding talent. Initially, Vikram intended for Lisa Ray to play the role, but she had to withdraw after just one filming session. Seeing an opportunity, Dino recommended Vikram consider his girlfriend, Bipasha, for the part. At that moment, Bipasha was also working on Ajnabee, a script written by Vikram’s colleague Robin Bhatt. After receiving a favorable review from Robin, Vikram shared the Raaz script with Bipasha, who eventually joined the film.

In the movie “Raaz,” the captivating camaraderie between Dino Morea and Bipasha Basu garnered much acclaim, as their off-screen affection seemed to deeply influence their acting. This couple initially crossed paths on a blind date set up by a mutual friend during their modeling days. Regrettably, their passionate relationship dissolved during the production of “Raaz.”
