As a dedicated moviegoer, I’ve always admired Marvel Studios for their knack for keeping secrets. They go to great lengths to ensure surprises in their upcoming Marvel movies aren’t spoiled, but sometimes, even the best-laid plans can unravel. It often seems like it’s an actor who slips up and spills the beans, such as when Tom Holland accidentally disclosed some significant details about the Spider-Man saga and his work on upcoming Avengers projects.
On rare occasions, a major A-lister might inadvertently share a Marvel morsel without realizing it’s classified information, leaving us fans curious about how Marvel Studios reacts when such incidents occur.
In the course of promoting “Gladiator 2”, Denzel Washington hinted that he would be joining Ryan Coogler for “Black Panther 3”. This revelation unexpectedly stirred up a frenzy on social media as many were surprised to learn about his potential role in the upcoming film, given its distant release date and lack of speculation about his possible character. Naturally, the Internet reacted enthusiastically, but Marvel Studios remained calm, as Nate Moore, one of their producers, shared with TopMob during the promotion for “Captain America: Brave New World”.
Ryan Cougar just called, sounding exhilarated, “Did you catch what he said?!” (Laughs) I didn’t, but it sure was fun! You see, Denzel is working on his upcoming film, Sinners, set for release in May. It’s all very new, as Ryan has been wrapping up this project. So, we’re a bit ahead of schedule since we don’t fully know what the movie entails yet. But it seems to reflect Denzel’s eagerness, and that’s fantastic! Our fans are already buzzing about it, eagerly anticipating the storyline. It’s sparked quite a bit of speculation, none of which is accurate, but the excitement level is high. Now, it’s up to us to create an excellent movie. And let me tell you, the enthusiasm among the fans is palpable, and that’s a great foundation to start from!
Indeed, there are numerous queries about “Black Panther 3” that Marvel needs addressing, first among them being, “Who will be the film’s Black Panther?” Following the sequel “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” Letitia Wright’s character Shuri took over the role. However, at the end of “Wakanda Forever,” it was disclosed that T’Challa and Nakia (Lupita Nyong’o) had a son, which raises the possibility that he might ascend to become the next Black Panther.
The main challenge here lies in scheduling, as at this moment, there’s no confirmed release for Black Panther 3 within the MCU lineup. However, Marvel is working on an animated series titled Eyes of Wakanda, which could potentially develop these narratives further. Additionally, other projects such as Blade have been announced, and it seems they might proceed before Black Panther 3 materializes. If Denzel Washington has confirmed a role, though, it indicates that Marvel may have already discussed the project’s direction with him, suggesting we might learn more details soon.
