On day two of his shows in the capital city, Diljit drew acclaim from director Imtiaz Ali, who made the movie “Amar Singh Chamkila“. The filmmaker expressed that Diljit is ‘rocking the nation’.

On October 28th, Imtiaz Ali shared a fan post from Instagram showcasing Diljit Dosanjh’s latest performance at his Delhi concert. In an Instagram story video, Diljit is seen performing the classic song “Pehle Lalkare” by late folk singer Amar Singh Chamkila during the concert.

The singer is sporting a white outfit with a black jacket. He paired it with a white turban.

Imtiaz tagged Diljit and wrote, “Rocking the country.”

On October 26th and 27th, Diljit Dosanjh took the stage in Delhi for a two-day concert. The venue for this event was none other than Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, located in our nation’s capital city. Afterward, he’ll be gracing Jaipur with his presence on November 3rd. Following that, he has concerts lined up in Chandigarh, Guwahati, Pune, Indore, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Lucknow, Hyderabad, and Ahmedabad.

Imtiaz Ali has openly expressed his decision to cast Diljit Dosanjh in his upcoming directorial project, Amar Singh Chamkila. In a previous conversation with Mid-Day, Imtiaz recounted an incident where he offered the lead role to Diljit. The filmmaker disclosed that before signing on for the biographical drama, Diljit shared a plot summary of his 2023 movie, Jodi, with him.

Imtiaz stated that Diljit showed him certain scenes from the movie Jodi and inquired if I would suit the character for Amar Singh Chamkila. The film, based on the life of the late folk singer Amar Singh Chamkila, debuted on Netflix on April 12th. In this production, Parineeti Chopra portrayed Diljit’s second wife on screen, Amarjot Kaur.
