Disney has unveiled a sneak peek at the upcoming live-action version of the beloved film, Lilo & Stitch.
In this paraphrase, we’re reintroducing the beloved, quaint blue alien character on the silver screen. A 30-second sneak peek offers a glimpse of the Hawaiian shoreline, serving as the backdrop for the movie. The clip shows Stitch, a canine-like extraterrestrial, causing mischief by knocking over a sandcastle. The film’s synopsis promises an emotional connection between a solitary human girl named Lilo and a destructive alien named Stitch, whom she adopts.
Dean Fleischer Camp is scheduled to take the director’s chair, while Chris Sanders will once again lend his voice to the character of Stitch. Joining the cast are Maia Kealoho, Zach Galifianakis, Sydney Agudong, Billy Magnussen, and Courtney B. Vance. This live-action film is being released 23 years after the original, which earned a staggering $273 million worldwide. The plot revolves around six-year-old Lilo and her older sister Nani, who reside in Hawaii. They take in a genetically engineered “dog,” Experiment 626, better known as Stitch. Over the years, there have been numerous spin-offs of Lilo & Stitch for both television and film.
The live-action drops on May 23, 2025.
