‘Disney Said That Was A Hard Pass.’ Say What You Will About Conan O’Brien As Oscars Host, But He 100% Brought The Snacks

Last night, the much-anticipated 2025 Oscars took place as scheduled on TV, with Conan O’Brien serving as the master of ceremonies. His opening remarks and jokes were largely appreciated, showcasing his wit. Despite opinions about his performance, it’s worth noting that he went the extra mile by offering refreshments during the event. Interestingly enough, there was a hitch when it came to one of the treats Conan wanted to share with the audience, as Disney voiced some concerns.

In summary, the 97th Academy Awards were filled with unexpected moments. Highlights included Mikey Madison winning Best Actress and “I’m Still Here” taking home the award for Best International Feature. However, what truly caught everyone off guard was the distribution of goodie boxes by Mr. O’Brien to the 2025 Oscar winners and the audience. These boxes contained items such as a pretzel, water bottle, and other assorted gifts. Interestingly, there was also a note revealing that Disney had declined a certain item.

Although adding a gummy might have added some humor, it’s not surprising that Disney might have been cautious about providing that. Nevertheless, the letter was a delightful touch and perfectly fit the comedic tone of the former talk show host. The treats offered were thoughtful, as events can get quite lengthy and performers may get hungry during them. (I’m curious if many stars in attendance would have enjoyed a gummy instead.)
