Disney+ Sizzle Reel Leaves Out 3 Major Upcoming MCU & Star Wars Shows

Disney Plus recently unveiled a sneak peek at its upcoming releases for the remainder of 2025, yet it seems to have overlooked some significant Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and Star Wars titles. Despite this omission, the streaming platform is gearing up for several eagerly awaited new shows towards the end of 2025, such as the second season of Percy Jackson and the Olympians, King of the Hill, and Alien: Earth. However, it appears that new shows from Star Wars and Marvel Studios, two key components of Disney+, were not featured in their list of major upcoming releases.

This year, Disney+ has unveiled numerous productions from the Marvel and Star Wars universes such as “Andor”, “Daredevil: Reborn” and “Ironheart”. These titles have been fierce competitors on the streaming platform, indicating that the main Disney+ franchises continue to thrive.

Even though Disney has changed its strategy for Marvel TV productions, leading to fewer releases this year, there are still some Marvel Studios and Lucasfilm projects scheduled on Disney+ in 2025. Notably, the highly anticipated Wonder Man is set to be released in the second half of the year, as it was the only MCU title featured in Disney+’s 2025 preview reel. Interestingly, the three series not mentioned are all animated productions, rather than live-action releases.

Disney Omits 3 MCU & Star Wars Disney+ Shows from Release Video

Eyes of Wakanda

Looking ahead in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, after Ironheart, audiences can anticipate a fresh Black Panther spin-off titled “Eyes of Wakanda“. This animated series, produced by Marvel Studios Animation, is an intriguing anthology that leaps through time, creating MCU history. It revolves around legendary Wakandan warriors from various historical eras, who embark on a quest to recover ancient Vibranium artifacts.

On August 27, the film titled “Eyes of Wakanda” will hit the screens. This production is the brainchild of Ryan Coogler, who also directed “Black Panther”. However, it’s Todd Harris who’s in charge of directing this film. Among the voice actors we can find Winnie Harlow, Cress Williams, and Steve Toussaint.

Marvel Zombies

Coming soon on October 3, 2025, another exciting animated series from the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) titled “Marvel Zombies” is expected to be released.

The series originates from a zombie episode in Season 1 of “What If…?”, and brings back several Marvel Cinematic Universe stars to voice their characters, such as Simu Liu (Shang-Chi), Hailee Steinfeld (Kate Bishop), Elizabeth Olsen (Scarlet Witch). Iman Vellani is also returning as Ms. Marvel, with her character expected to play a significant role in the animated production.

In “Marvel Zombies,” the remaining superheroes find themselves battling zombified versions of both allies and foes during a zombie outbreak, as these undead beings aim to convert them into their own kind.

Star Wars: Visions – Volume 3

This year on Disney+ has been particularly impressive for Star Wars fans, as we’ve seen the final episodes of “Skeleton Crew” and the last season of “Andor,” one of the best Star Wars TV series so far. But that’s not all! Lucasfilm still has something in store for us this year, with the third volume of Star Wars: Visions scheduled to premiere on October 29.

Visions is a collection of animated tales, each a brief story crafted by various animation studios globally. These narratives exist beyond the traditional Star Wars timeline, offering the creators more freedom and room for imaginative exploration compared to typical stories.

In Volume 3 of Star Wars: Visions, several animation studios from the initial volume return to create sequels, including further installments for beloved episodes such as “The Ninth Jedi” and “The Duel”. Alongside these, Studio Trigger, Kinema Citrus, and Polygon Pictures will also contribute fresh episodes in this upcoming season.
