It seems that the appeal lies in the blend of real actors portraying villainous characters, alongside pre-recorded ones who are typically cartoon villains. The performance is primarily screen-based, giving an impression of what a potential Villains Land in the Magic Kingdom might be like. Your guess about this being a trial to gauge audience interest for future live-action villain shows is plausible.

From my perspective, I have concerns that the audience might not find this program particularly enjoyable due to its excessive use of “filler”. It’s quite challenging to imagine young kids staying engaged with it, and I’m also unsure if it will appeal to many grown-ups, given its focus on campy songs featuring villains from Disney children’s movies. The potential audience for this seems rather limited.

Additionally, Disney may face challenges in comparison to the new How to Train Your Dragon show at Epic Universe. To suggest that this is an unfavorable matchup for Disney would be an understatement.
