Do We Have Jason Kelce To Thank For Opening The Bachelorette Up To Body Diversity? Eliminated Contestant Seems To Think So

Do We Have Jason Kelce To Thank For Opening The Bachelorette Up To Body Diversity? Eliminated Contestant Seems To Think So

As a huge fan of The Bachelorette and body positivity, I can’t help but be disappointed with Jenn Tran’s decision to send Brett Harris home during the season premiere. Brett became an instant fan favorite for representing a different body type than we’re used to seeing on The Bachelor franchise shows. His departure left many fans feeling upset and frustrated, as they saw his presence as a breath of fresh air.

The excitement is building on Jenn Tran’s season of “The Bachelorette,” as both romantic relationships and rivalries begin to develop. Yet, some viewers are still upset over Brett Harris being eliminated during the initial episode. Harris had gained a large fan base beforehand due to his unique body type, which is less common in “The Bachelor” franchise shows. He believes that Jason Kelce may have paved the way for larger men to be included in future seasons.

In an interview with “The Viall Files” podcast, Brett Harris discussed his experience on “The Bachelorette,” including the attention he’s received for being one of only a few plus-size contestants in the show’s 48-season history. Nick Viall expressed that fans were disappointed when Jenn Tran eliminated Brett on Night 1 as they viewed body diversity as a welcome change. However, Brett argued that he wouldn’t have advanced that far without Nick’s support.

I’m definitely vouching for my offensive linemen on this show. I owe a huge debt of gratitude to Jason Kelce for clearing the path for me to be here; I’ll always be thankful for his support. However, I don’t believe that special consideration should be given to me just because of that. If the team dynamics weren’t a good fit, they simply weren’t. And I’m not holding any grudges over it.

During his interview, Brett Harris acknowledged that The Bachelor’s casting team is becoming more inclusive regarding body types. Nevertheless, he emphasized that once he gained entry into the show, it was ultimately up to him to progress. Regarding Jenn Tran, Brett considered her a wonderful person, but unfortunately, they lacked the romantic connection required for him to move forward in the competition.

Jason Kelce could make a valid observation. Over the last few years, the robust football player has gained significant attention. Following their teams’ Super Bowl clash in February 2023, he made an appearance on Saturday Night Live when Travis hosted, generating many fans through discussions about Travis and Taylor Swift on their podcast, New Heights.

In November, Jason Kelce was among People magazine’s selection of the most attractive men, joining the ranks of Pedro Pascal, Timothée Chalamet, Usher, Jamie Foxx, Lenny Kravitz, and the winner, Patrick Dempsey. He gained widespread attention by removing his shirt in celebration of Travis Kelce’s touchdown during the 2024 playoffs. Since then, he has made appearances on various shows, including “Abbott Elementary” and “Jeopardy!”.

It’s possible that ABC chose to bring in Brett Harris, known for his great sense of humor and strength on the offensive line, to add some excitement to their team.

It’s hoped that the makers of “The Bachelor” take notice of the audience’s readiness for more plus-size contestants. With “Bachelor in Paradise” set to air again in 2025, there’s a possibility that Brett Harris could make another appearance within Bachelor Nation.

During this time, you can catch the latest installments of “The Bachelorette” every Monday at 8 p.m. Eastern Time on ABC. Alternatively, if you prefer to watch on-demand, a Hulu subscription grants you access to the episodes the following day.
