Documentary About Blackpink and ‘White Lotus’ Star Lisa in Production

Straight from her recent stint at The White Lotus’ third season, Lisa is eager to reveal further aspects of her personal life and professional journey in an entirely new documentary.

During Sony Music Vision’s first content exhibition on Thursday, it was unveiled that Lisa, known by her full name Lalisa Manoban, will be the focus of a documentary helmed by Sue Kim. This film will chronicle Lisa’s journey to fame, encompassing her time with the highly successful K-Pop band Blackpink, her solo musical ventures, and her acting debut in “White Lotus”.

This year, Lisa made her first solo album appearance with Alter Ego, an album that ranked in the Top 10 on the Billboard 200 and immediately topped the chart for top album sales. Additionally, she had her initial performance at Coachella without Blackpink during the same year.

Apart from her individual projects, Lisa will be embarking on a tour with Blackpink this coming summer. Yet, the documentary offers fans unprecedented insights into Lisa’s life, delving deep into the artist’s remarkable career journey and innovative artistic perspective beyond the globally acclaimed band, Blackpink.

This year has been truly remarkable, and I feel fortunate to have the chance to immortalize these precious moments on camera and let my followers share in the experience with me,” Lisa expressed in a statement. “Collaborating with Sue Kim has been delightful. We’ve traveled across the globe together, and I can sense that there are even more thrilling adventures ahead.

Kim has just come from starring in A24’s “The Last of the Sea Women,” which won her a New York Women in Film and Television award following its debut at the 2024 Toronto Film Festival. Furthermore, she was also an executive producer for the Apple TV+ documentary series titled “K-Pop Idols.

It’s been an incredible privilege and a captivating experience to follow Lisa through this transformative year, as she shared her journey with us,” Kim expressed in a statement. “There are numerous instances along the way that I believe will astonish people and offer a unique peek into her life that has remained hidden until now. I can’t wait for audiences to watch the movie and experience this remarkable chapter in Lisa’s life firsthand.
