As a fan of Doechii’s captivating music and unapologetic spirit, I find myself utterly enthralled by her debut studio album “Alligator Bites Never Heal.” Born and raised in the swamps of Southern Florida, this Swamp Princess has managed to create an auditory landscape that is as unique as her Everglades hometown.
“Doechii always wears her roots with pride,” she shared during a recent interview. Originating from the marshlands of South Florida, she affectionately calls herself the ‘Swamp Princess’. Her first studio album, titled ‘Alligator Bites Never Heal‘, delivers a rich serving of soulful tunes that truly reflect her origins.
In a nod to her Everglades hometown, Doechii delivers powerfully, using her Nissan Altima, in the creation of her 19-track album ‘Alligator Bites Never Heal.’ Featuring several freestyles from her Swamp Session series, this project takes listeners on a journey to Tampa, Florida. Doechii labels some of these tracks as “editorial rap,” including “BULLFROG,” “CATFISH,” and “PROFIT.”
She described her unique genre as the sound of high fashion hip-hop, or editorial rap. To illustrate this, she pointed out on the catchy track “BOOM BAP” from Swamp Session that it embodies real rap with a rhythmic “boom bap,” a bouncy beat, and a snappy clap, blending elements of house and trap music.

Empowered by her bold spirit, a trait she attributes to her success, the album Alligator Bites Never Heal showcases a strong and unified first release from the TDE artist. As she expresses on “DEATH ROLL”: “I adore how my thoughts stream when I’m fearless.”
In my creative endeavors, it’s a mix of curiosity and bravery that takes center stage. I’m naturally inquisitive, always eager to learn more, but what truly sets me apart is the courage to act on those questions and take risks with new experiences. It’s this duality that led to my success and got me noticed.
