Don 3: Farhan Akhtar postpones Ranveer Singh and Kiara Advani starrer to May 2025? Here’s what we know

As a lifestyle expert with a keen eye for cinema and an appreciation for the grit and determination that goes into making a movie, I must say that the delay of Don 3 has left me slightly disappointed but understandably so. Having followed Farhan Akhtar’s career closely, I can attest to his unwavering dedication to his craft and the stories he chooses to tell.

Excitement for the long-awaited third installment of “Don” has been building since pre-production started. Fans can hardly wait for this sequel, as Ranveer Singh takes on the legendary Don character and Kiara Advani plays the female lead. As per recent updates, Farhan Akhtar has chosen to postpone filming, with shooting now expected to start sometime between May and June of next year.

As per a report from News 18, Farhan Akhtar has delayed the production of Don 3 because he needs to fulfill his obligations for his upcoming movie, 120 Bahadur, in which he plays Major Shaitan Singh PVC. A source disclosed that Farhan plans to complete his commitments for 120 Bahadur before diving into his directorial role.

The report noted that due to the growth period of the plant (former) being several months long, they have postponed the initial filming of Don 3 by four months. This means it will now start in May-June of the following year. Meanwhile, Ranveer Singh, our main actor, is immersed in Aditya Dhar’s upcoming directorial venture at present.

Previously, there were reports that filming for Don 3 would commence in August 2024. But just recently, Farhan Akhtar clarified that the start of production has been postponed until January 2025.

On September 4th, Farhan Akhtar announced his upcoming project on Instagram – a powerful war drama titled “120 Bahadur,” inspired by the iconic Battle of Rezang La. His post, complete with an intriguing poster, sparked excitement among followers. The tagline, “They were three thousand… and us? 120 bravehearts,” symbolizes the courage that is central to the story’s theme.

In the realm of cinema, guided by the visionary Razneesh Ghai, known as ‘Razy’, 120 Bahadur takes us on a journey to honor the extraordinary courage exhibited by Charlie Company, 13 Kumaon Regiment, under the command of Major Shaitan Singh Bhati (PVC). As an ardent admirer, I can’t help but express my profound respect for these unacknowledged heroes. Their heroism during the Indo-China War of 1962, particularly on November 18, stands as a testament to their indomitable spirit, as they faced insurmountable odds with an unparalleled valiance that continues to inspire me.

Additionally, he publicly thanked the Indian Army for their significant role in making this inspiring tale of bravery and selflessness a reality on the big screen. Rapidly following suit, Ranveer Singh voiced his approval, posting an animated message adorned with symbols such as the fist bump, heart, and flame, expressing his eagerness and camaraderie for Farhan’s forthcoming movie project.
