As a huge fan of Drake, I can’t help but feel for him as yet another unfortunate event befalls his Toronto mansion. The flooding, caused by Toronto’s record-breaking rainfall, adds to the list of challenges he has faced in recent times, including a drive-by shooting at his home.
I was disappointed to learn thatToronto’s impressive mansion belonging to Drake experienced severe flooding following a heavy rainstorm on Tuesday.
In an Instagram post, the rapper shared a video of muddy water flooding one floor in his house up to his ankles. He captioned it with a hopeful request for “espresso martinis.” Amidst the chaos, a young man in black tried to shut a door while Drake, armed with a broom and a camera, battled against the raging water to keep Mother Nature from intruding further.
A drive-by shooting occurred outside Drake’s extravagant 50,000-square-foot residence in Toronto’s Bridle Path neighborhood. Fortunately, the renowned Canadian rapper remained unharmed and willingly assisted law enforcement with their investigation.
Prior to constructing his grand manor in Toronto, Drake used to reside on the 52nd floor of a towering skyscraper. This location would have shielded him from Toronto’s heavy summer rainstorms. Unfortunately, several major transportation routes were submerged and the city was left cleaning up after a historic 4-inch rainfall that poured down during mid-morning on Tuesday, as reported by Environment Canada.
Additionally, numerous car commuters found themselves stuck as water inundated significant roadways such as the Don Valley Parkway due to a nearby river bursting its banks. Conversely, no significant flooding or power interruptions were announced by Toronto’s film industry hubs, primarily located in the portlands and renowned for hosting original film and television productions for American studios and streaming platforms.
At one point, around 135,000 city residents were without electrical power.
