Dredge's mobile port delayed until next year but a closed beta test is planned for next month

  • Dredge has been delayed until February of 2025
  • However, a new closed beta with open sign-ups has been announced
  • Dredge takes you on a Lovecraftian-inspired fishing adventure

As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of gaming under my belt, I can tell you that delays are as much a part of our lives as leveling up and boss fights. And while it may be disheartening to hear that Dredge’s mobile port is being pushed back until February 2025, the announcement of an open closed beta softens the blow considerably.

If you were looking forward to fishing in the terrifying Lovecraftian waters of Greater Marrow, developed by Black Salt Games, I’m afraid there’s some unfortunate news: The highly anticipated mobile version of Dredge has been postponed until February 2025! However, there’s a silver lining – Black Salt is now accepting sign-ups for a new closed beta to coincide with this delay.

For newcomers, Dredge casts you as a fisherman in the town of Greater Marrow. Initially, it seems simple enough, collecting fresh catches to sell to locals. However, beyond bizarre sea creatures surfacing from the ocean depths, enigmatic entities, and all sorts of other uncanny horrors, there’s also the ominous risk of mental deterioration and peculiar occurrences on a distant island shrouded in mystery…

You’re invited to enroll in the freshly announced private mobile beta test of Dredge via this Google form link. Although there might have been some delay, the numerous honors, positive reviews, and anticipation surrounding Dredge suggest that it’s a highly anticipated release that’s worth the wait, especially if you haven’t had a chance to play it yet.

Fishin’ ain’t easy

Based on my personal experience playing Dredge on PC, such delays are not unexpected given the game’s vastness when transitioning to mobile platforms. Considering the game’s scope, it’s no wonder there’s a delay. However, if it resembles the main release, there will be ample content for players to discover. I believe conducting another closed beta is wise because it allows more people to offer feedback and enjoy this unique blend of horror and fishing.
