Druski is ready to unearth more comedy from a funeral home.
It’s been confirmed that a feature is being created, starring the popular comedian Druski, which will be inspired by his recent short film “The Diggers.” The project is being developed by both him and Kenya Barris, and it is backed by 4lifers Entertainment (Druski’s imprint) and Khalabo Ink Society (Barris’ production company). This exclusive information comes from The Hollywood Reporter.
The film draws inspiration from Druski’s recent short “The Diggers,” which was released on social media a week ago and features Shane Gillis, Theo Von, Navv Greene, and BenDaDonnn. This old-fashioned buddy comedy follows Druski’s character, Brandon Digger, who inherits his deceased father’s funeral home, only to discover that managing it is more challenging than he initially thought.
At this stage, it’s unclear if Gillis or Von will reprise their roles.
The producers are Druski from 4lifers Entertainment, as well as Jeremy Allen, Adam Kassan, and Barris, who represent Khalabo Ink Society.
The reunion of Druski and Barris takes place as Druski has frequently appeared in the comedy series Grown-ish, a show that Barris co-created alongside Larry Wilmore.
Last year, it was reported that Druski had made an unofficial trailer with Von and Gillis, which he was trying to sell. Druski is popular for his viral humor videos and for headlining successful tours. He has recently introduced the reality competition digital series called “Coulda Been House” and “Coulda Been Love“.
